Transmedia Tuesday will launch a new version of its Glide cross-platform operating system. Glide's "cloud computing" allows users to automatically sync their data between computers, mobile smart phones, and televisions.
The company's software runs native to the Windows, Mac and as of tomorrow, Linux. The Linux launch tomorrow will complete the company's full platform neutral program, CEO Donald Leka told me.
RH 100 winner Glide automatically syncs video, photos, documents and other files so that users can access them from virtually any device.
Glide also allows users to synchronize their address book and calendar between their computer and their mobile device, whether BlackBerry, WIndows Mobile, Palm or Symbian.
Glide also has a "compatibility engine" that converts files to the correct format for that particular device.
Glide is angel funded and has not taken any venture backing, partly in order to stay neutral among the various operating systems, according to Mr. Leka.
