Glide Effortless Gives Mac Users the Better Deal with the Mac Version of Glide; Brand New Glide Power Bubble also Unveiled

TransMedia released today Glide Effortless for Mac OS X at www.glidedigital.com. Mac users can download a special OS X version of Glide Link that serves as a gateway between their Mac and Glide. With the OS X version of Glide Link, Mac users can easily manage uploads and downloads of photos, music, video and documents as well as contacts between their Macintosh Computers and Glide. Mac users can choose files and folders to upload using the OS X Finder and import their contacts from the Mac Address Book. Glide is compatible with both Safari and Firefox.

"We made sure the Mac version of Glide is every bit as good if not better than the PC version," said TransMedia Chairman and CEO, Donald Leka. "With Glide, the Mac experience will become even more exciting and dynamic than it already is. Glide serves as a powerful online extension of the Mac, making it easy for Mac users to securely share virtually unlimited video, music, photos and documents in video, audio and text conferences, as well as, through email."

Glide Service and Storage Options for Mac Users

Storage: Glide Free (300MB); Glide Standard $4.95 per month or $49.95 for a one year subscription (1.5GB); Glide Premium $9.95 per month or $99.95 for a one year subscription (4GB also includes audio and video conferencing with integrated media viewing and sharing). Mac users can purchase additional storage up to 40GB.

Mac users can upload and organize everything from photos, music, video, and documents to contacts. Unlike other storage solutions, Glide is also a content organizer, file sharing and communication platform, and media playback system. Glide automatically transcodes, previews, and plays back your media in different sizes in the browser.

You can send an e-mail to a user that links them into select areas of your content, and you can assign them all sorts of rights for viewing and even uploading and downloading content.

Glide provides online content rights protection so the system cannot be used for piracy, but Glide makes it easy for a friend or colleague to view and play back media from your collection.

Glide Introduces Major Upgrade: The Power Bubble

The Glide Bubble, referred to in published reports as the Glide pie menu, has been recognized as a real alternative to old school file menu and toolbar navigation.

Glide's use of the pie menu has stirred great interest in the industry. Thanks to the pie menu, selecting options in Glide requires less mouse movements on the part of the user and is in fact quicker than accessing menu lists and icon bars. Traditionally the concern with pie menus has been that they cannot support as many features as a list view due to space limitations.

This is no longer the case with Glide's brand new Power Bubble, which features a new toggle switch in the center that provides instant toggling to multiple layers of functionality, which are logically organized. The pie menu is now not only quicker but can also provide a long list of options just like a menu list only in a more concise and efficient display. The Power Bubble unleashes the full power of Glide. From any single media file, group of files or Glide container, Glide users can instantly initiate an email, video, audio or text conference to share media.

Glide Effortless will be making groundbreaking announcements on February 28th. Mac and PC users stay tuned.
